Winter Cabin Escape

This painting study was created during an online class with Vlad Yeliseyev, inspired by his snowy cabin scene filled with rich browns, glowing yellow streaks of light, and a quiet line of pine trees in the distance. Painting along with Vlad is always a marathon — the kind where, as he says, you’re constantly “running after the train.” The pace is fast, the brushwork loose, and the sense of unresolved discord keeps you alert and learning.

I do studies like this not to copy another artist’s work, but to grow, explore new approaches, and understand how masters handle atmosphere, color, and movement. Each session pushes me to paint boldly, trust the process, and discover something new in my own voice.
